As a transplant from North Dakota, I feel honored and privileged to now be a diehard Minnesotan surrounded by our breathtaking environment, spoiled by our beautiful and plentiful lakes, and a proud member of this amazing group of women that shine bright and fish hard. I joined WAM only 3 years ago, but I am no stranger to the fishing community. Serving on several DNR Oversight committees, DNR workgroups, state and municipal commissions, and other fishing and non-fishing nonprofit organization boards, I am excited to bring my experience and skills to WAM in the hopes that we can take this organization to the next level. The future of fishing is women [gender nonconforming and non-binary] as women are the fastest-growing demographic in fishing in the nation, so it will be my job as Marketing Director to strengthen our branding, maintain a solid website, and live our mission statement through all of our marketing initiatives. I also have a great passion for conservation and will be doing my utmost to help WAM incorporate a conservationist mindset into everything that we do going forward. Working collaboratively with our board directors and subcommittees, it is my hope that every citizen in Minnesota will know our organization's name by the end of this year and that the fishing industry, DNR, Minnesota legislature, and anglers alike will not be able to ignore our powerful voices! We are strong and we are many, and we are going to have an amazing year ahead! Let's do this!
"I go fishing not to find myself but to lose myself." ~ Joseph Monninger
