I joined WAM six years ago with the goal of becoming a more independent angler. I've learned a ton, especially about new species, and gained lots of new friends. As President the past two years, I've been fortunate to work with a strong and dedicated board. This is a huge organization with a lot of moving parts, and it truly takes a village. Our calendar of events included something for everyone: trips, in-person and virtual tournaments, volunteer opportunities, sponsor meetups, member meetings, and education. The Master Angler program continues to be a member favorite, and our private Facebook page has excellent engagement. I'm proud of the impact WAM made on the fishing community through volunteering and donating almost $25,000 just this year. My primary goals continue to be increasing member engagement, fostering a supportive environment to give women and children opportunities to get more involved and improve their fishing skills, adding more educational opportunities, as well as increasing WAM's visibility in the fishing industry. I've been married for the last 27 years to my favorite fishing buddy, Scott. We have two grown boys and live in Orono.
