Mission: Women Anglers of Minnesota is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit that supports women and children in the sport of fishing. With a 45-year history and over 900 members, we offer an educational, safe, and supportive environment that seeks to connect anglers of all experience levels and ages.
Tagline: For women who love to fish!
Founded in 1977, Women Anglers of Minnesota (WAM) is the longest standing women's fishing organization in the nation and was inducted into the Minnesota Fishing Hall of Fame in 2019. By connecting, teaching and advocating for thousands of women anglers throughout the state and Midwest, this organization has made a significant impact on the fishing industry.
Not only has WAM provided a supportive environment where women are given the educational programming and competitive opportunities to learn and help one another become better anglers and build their confidence, but we also have made significant strides in ensuring the financial health of the fishing industry and ensuring that future generations of both men and women will be able to enjoy this sport for years to come. WAM also serves as a leading advocate for women within the fishing industry, partnering with organization to promote the creation of functional, high-quality gear for women and girls.
In addition to raising money for our member programs, our charitable outreach focuses on providing financial support for kids' fishing clinics, tournaments, scholarships, high school fishing teams, and rods and reals through various programs throughout the state.
Women Anglers of Minnesota also has a legacy of giving financial donations for stocking and conservation efforts to organizations who provide assistance in keeping our natural resources flourishing. As part of our mission, responsible angling practices and supporting conservation efforts is at the forefront of our efforts within the community.
