Women Anglers of Minnesota

Originally from Oakdale, I grew up fishing any chance I could at a family or friends’ cabin, a

neighborhood lake, or while on vacation. I love the challenge of fishing, mystery of the catch, and being

on the water. My passion merged into a career, and I am honored to work for the MN DNR Fisheries in

Lanesboro, since 2007. I enjoy working with fish, anglers, and our trout stream resources, but my

personal fishing time dwindled. Luckily, I found WAM on Facebook and joined 2 years ago. The boost in

friends who also love fishing, expertise of targeting various species and waterbodies, and events to keep

me motivated and challenged is what I needed.

Recently appointed Education Director, I look forward to helping others learn and maybe be the boost

they need in their life. I won’t claim to know it all, but having connections through work and other

angler groups should help bring a new level of education to our group. As you gain knowledge, you gain

confidence, and we can all benefit from both!

My husband Rob and my two busy boys, Justin (5) and Dylan (2), have been the best part of my life. We

fish as often as we can together, but we frequently go on separate fishing trips. I am just happy to now

have other women to go with. We enjoy most things outdoors and welcome anyone to reach out if in

southeast MN and need any fishing or tourist advice!
