I joined WAM in 2018 with the goal of becoming a more independent angler. Along the way, I've learned a ton, especially about new species, and made many lasting friendships. Over the past five years as president, I've been fortunate to work with a strong and dedicated board. WAM is a large, volunteer-run organization with a lot of moving parts, and it truly takes a village to make it successful. I’m very proud that our calendar of events includes something for everyone: education, trips, in-person and virtual tournaments, volunteer opportunities, and sponsor and member meet-ups. The Master Angler program—one of the reasons I joined WAM—continues to be a member favorite. Our private Facebook page has excellent engagement and offers a supportive environment to learn, share, and cheer each other on. I'm especially proud of the impact WAM has made on the fishing community through volunteering and donating $32K per year. My primary goals continue to be increasing member engagement, fostering a supportive environment to give women and children opportunities to get more involved and improve their fishing skills, and increasing WAM's visibility in the fishing industry. I've been married for 30 years to my favorite fishing buddy, Scott. We have two grown boys and live in Orono.
