2022 WAM Why Knot Class!

Class Description: A class on knots and rigging! Learn knots to set up fishing rigs, tie hooks, flies, lures, and 'knot' lose your hooks!

Schedule:

5:30 PM - Social  & Shop
6:00 PM - Class starts, Introductions and discuss importance of Knots & when to apply them. Most of these knots will be applied in the rigging section.
6:15 PM - Hands on tying knots
7:15 PM - Rigging & Instruction ‘How to’
8:15 PM - Closing questions & clean up
8:30PM - End

Learn fishing knots and rigging techniques to successfully set up your terminal rigs, lures, hooks, or flies. Learn how to tie knots efficiently making it easier and tie a clinch with a speed method! Also covered is adding a mono or fluoro leader to your braid. This class will be hands-on, so tie along while being social with our WAM Club Members. We'll also discuss the importance of examining your leader making sure it’s free of nicks and importance of retying after multiple catches & snags. 


What You Need to Bring:

Some materials will be provided (mono & some large hooks to learn knots), but please bring a scissors or nippers/clippers to cut tag ends of leader material & braid. Each participant will receive a manual covering knots, details on how to set up, and rigging and terminal needed for the class. If you’d like to create your own rigs, please bring your preferred terminal tackle: hooks, swivels, snaps, spinners, beads, jigs, & weights.
