Hi, I grew up on a farm in central Minnesota and was born into an outdoors-loving family. I married into another outdoors family and developed a deep respect for fishing at a young age. Growing up, I was exposed to a variety of fishing traditions. With three adult sons and a husband who share my passion for hunting and fishing, I’ve always been active in the outdoors. I enjoy all types of fishing and am always excited to target new species and learn new techniques. I love exploring new fishing spots and, last year, set a goal to learn how to fish big waters like Mille Lacs for smallmouth bass and perch or the Great Lakes for salmon and big browns. My longtime favorite species include crappie, musky, and sturgeon. Since 2017, I’ve made sturgeon fishing a family tradition, sharing that pursuit with many others. In 2023, I proudly earned the title of North American Sturgeon Champion, and in 2023, I was honored with WAM’s Specialist of the Year award. Having both received mentorship and mentored others, I’m passionate about helping women grow and succeed in the world of angling, supporting them in achieving their individual goals. I believe that as women, we lift each other up and that everyone has something to offer, no matter how novice or advanced their skills may be. As a nurse by trade, I believe in providing a social learning approach to education. I find that we learn best alongside each other, and I’m excited to bring new educational opportunities to our membership. I look forward to a great year of fishing with fellow WAM members, making new friends, and learning together!
