Liz Colsen has been a member of Women Anglers of Minnesota since 2015 and has served on the Board of Directors since 2016. She began as Membership Director before stepping into her current role as Vice President, a position she has held since 2022. Over the past nine completed years on the board, Liz has helped grow WAM’s membership from about 150 members to more than 1,000, while building strong relationships with industry partners, supporting tournaments, and strengthening the sense of community that defines WAM.
One of her favorite highlights was organizing WAM’s 45th Anniversary Celebration and helping expand the organization’s educational outreach.
“The greatest thing we reel in through WAM isn’t fish. It’s connection, confidence, and community. A true WAMily.”
Liz is a board certified general surgeon who lives in Hutchinson, Minnesota, with her husband Jeremy. They spend as much time as possible at their cabin in Osakis, where Jeremy also works as a professional fishing guide. When she is not in the operating room or on the water, Liz enjoys relaxing at home with their Great Danes. Through both her medical career and her work with WAM, Liz loves helping others learn, grow, and gain confidence, whether that happens in scrubs or in a boat.
